Ontario has proclaimed November as Hindu Heritage Month.
On Tuesday, Dec. 6, the Ontario Legislature voted in favour of the Hindu Heritage Month bill, which was introduced by Liberal’s Ajax-Pickering MPP Joe Dickson in October, to officially recognize November as Hindu Heritage Month in Ontario.
“I am proud that this government passed the bill I introduced, proclaiming November as Hindu Heritage Month in Ontario,” said Dickson. “November will be a time for the Hindu community to remember and celebrate their history and achievements, and to educate future generations and Ontarians of the history, experiences and significant contributions they have made to life in Ontario and Canada.”
With the passing of this bill, November of each year will now be recognized as Hindu Heritage Month in Ontario
